CARTRIDGE FILTERS

Cartridge filters for mechanical water purification are designed to remove suspended particles, debris and other insoluble substances from water.

These filters work physically by trapping and holding particles in their filter media, allowing only clean water to pass through. Typically used in residential, commercial and industrial settings to improve water quality.

Filtration Mechanism:

Mechanical cartridge filters use a porous filter media, most commonly a polypropylene foam cartridge, its pores trap and hold larger particles.

The size of particles that can be effectively captured by a cartridge filter depends on the pore size of the filler.

Rating in microns: mechanical cartridge filters are often rated based on their rated or absolute throughput in microns. This indicates the size of particles they can effectively capture
Replaceable: Cartridge filters are replaceable filter elements, which means they have a limited lifespan before they become clogged with trapped particles. Once a filter reaches its capacity, it must be replaced with a new one to ensure effective filtration.
The life of the cartridge will be directly affected by the quality of the incoming water so it is recommended that you have the water analyzed.
Pre-filtration: mechanical cartridge filters are often used as pre-filters in water treatment systems. They remove sediment, rust, sand and other particles, improving the taste, clarity and safety of tap water. Which in turn extends the life of your appliances and plumbing fixtures.
